A SMALL, USEFUL THING

A thoughtful start
to your next stitch.

Stitch Size brings a small piece of project planning into one quiet place: the stitched dimensions, the cloth around them, and a note to take to the worktable.

One job, done clearly

The tool translates a cross stitch chart’s width and height into physical dimensions for Aida. You can compare fabric counts, choose a margin on every edge, switch units and print a project note. No account is required.

The distinction between design size and fabric size runs through the tool and the guides. It is easy to understand a calculation and still cut the wrong rectangle if that distinction gets lost. Both measurements are always labelled separately.

Clear about the assumptions

This planner focuses on Aida with one full cross stitch per square. It does not estimate floss, reproduce patterns or calculate linen worked over two threads. The method page explains the formula, input limits, rounding and practical limits, with a worked example you can check.

The field notes are original explanations of fabric planning. Where a definition or measurement standard comes from an external source, the relevant page links to it. They are general project notes, rather than a claim of professional framing or conservation advice.

Your project stays with you

Calculations happen in your browser. The optional save button stores one plan on your current browser; you can restore or forget it there. This version has no analytics or advertising scripts. See the privacy page for the details.
